Webster Herald, Webster, New York Wednesday, December 27, 2017 9 Boris, Easton lead Webster in Computer Science Contest Webster CSD's best and brightest high school students were among those who competed in the American Com- puter Science League Contest #1. The American Computer Science League (ACSU Contest consists of an individually written program and a five-question written assessment. Stu- dents had from 2:30 p.m. on Friday, December 15 until 2:30 p.m. on Mon- day, December 18 to complete the pro- gramming portion independently. Then on Monday, students had 30 minutes to complete the written portion in- dependently. Leading the way for Webster Thomas High School in the Se- nior division was Robert Boris, who Robert Boris scored 9 out of 10 points. Michael Geraci scored 5 out of 10 points to lead the Titans in the In- termediate division. Leading the way 1 1 P ·· ' for Webster Schro- 2 9.6' \ ' eder High School in 1 -lm /1 I tt 7,1 7 = P the Senior division . 1 . 4 , was Cole Easton, - scoring seven out of 10 points. In the In- termediate division, the Warriors were led by Allison Lis- Cole Easton ciandro, Anirudh Sharma, and Cloe Wemett, who each scored nine out of 10 points. ACSL is now in its 39th year of or- ganizing computer science contests and computer programming contests for elementary, junior, and senior high school students. This year, more than 200 teams in the United States, Cana- da, Europe, Africa, and Asia are partic- ipating. ACSL is on the approved activ- ities list of the National Association of Secondary School Principals and is an institutional member of the Computer Science Teachers Association.
