Asit is obvious that they do not, this show cannot be considered as being other than gross in its grossly i-ncorrect portrayal of Indians. ‘ A 3. In their letter, they talkof the blind‘ children being hurt by the zcon I havesent. a check for $7 made out to Camp Smile to the Indianszat the culture center as I know that 100% of it will go toCamp Smile. Thisl did in response to the ad in the Herald on March 2. If the Theatre Guild and Lions had sold all tickets to this show, abouthalf of the ticketmoney would have gone to Camp Smile. As at- tendance the _ weekend was poor, less than half will go. If people are interested in supporting Camp Smile, they should senttheir money to the Indians so that they, who have nothing, can donate 100% to the camp. If your money had been spent on theatre tickets, a much smal- ler portion would have bene- the blind children. In any case how can anyone equate support of this garbage script with helping anyone? 4. I am writing this letter and wrote the previous letter on this issue to satisfy my‘ conscience, to express my feelings on the issue and to raise the question of the issue to a level where it cannot be ignored or neutralized. I aim «tak- ing thelliberty of referring to the author of this letter in the plural as :I have heard the samecommeijits from several other people. The points raised by this letter are as follows: ' 1. The letter refers to..some of the cast members asgirls. I know every -member of the cast and1I can assure you that there is no one in the cast under the age of 12. Referring to a Woman (a female over 12 years) as me girl when one would not refer to.a man asa boy is sexism.
