Miss Beatrice Ogden Mills is the daughter of Mr. arid Mrs. Ogden Mills, of Staatsburg, on the'Hudson. The Earl of Granard is Sir Bernard Arthur William Patrick' Hastings Forbes, by name. Albert Thompson, of the Fifth Ward, did a good day ’ s work on- Saturday. He consummated a deal in realty on the east side of the town which will be undoubtedly of great benefit to himself as well as to that locality. For sometime past he has been negotiating with Mrs. Martha E. Meyers, for the purchase of the property on which there is a cot- tafee. The dimensions of the lot are 50x100. Finally the deal was con summated. Mr. Thompson exchanges a cot tage in Kensico avenue and gives in addition a monied consideration . It is his purpose to move the cot tage now on the Lake street corner to a vacant lot down Kensico avenue and on his purchase he plans to erect a substantial brick building, throe stories in heighth, and to con tain stores and apartments. The Equalization Committee re port.-d having set the date for the signing of the tax warrant to collect State, County and Town taxes as March 1, 1909, and it was the opin ion of the Board that thpro could be ■ adjournment from this date. A special committee reported hav ing visited the Register of Titles and Deeds ’ .office at Boston, Mass.; that they had taken copies of tho books, etc., of that office, and recommend ed the adoption of the Torron sys tem In use there for this county, contingent upon some changes to conform with our laws.
