SUPERVISOR ’ S DOINGS Mrs. Loy Named as Janitress. The Board of Supervisors at their meeting Monday decided to take up the matter of the charges of ih< County Clerk to which State Con troller Glynn has taken exception. Mr. Fuller, of the County Clerl Committee, stated that he had i ceived from the County .Clerk a bill covering the period from July last to date. He stated that .It con tained most of the Items found in the bills of the former County Clerks and In his own previously passed up on and ordered paid by the Board. . ^Mr: Buck requested Mr. Fuller to mave a careful examination made of the charges presented by him, hav ing In mind the criticisms made by State Controller Glynn. Mr. Fuller added that he believed this ought to be done and that the committee ought to havie legal advice and as sistance. He therefore moved the adoption of the following resolution: \Resolved That fhe matter of the County Clerks bills be referred to the, Committee on County Clerk and the Judiciary Committee, together with the County Attorney, who are (t!T^eted*to look into the legality of all Items, particularly those in dis pute, and report to* this Board soon as possible, with such recom mendations as may h© deemed Just and proper/'' The resolution was adopted unanl mously. When the Board was called to or der, Chairman Secor of the Building Committee requested the members to take a recess and make an examl nation of the new additions to the Court House. It is expected that these will he ready for occupancy by January 1. Under a resolution introduced by Supervisor Thompson, of White Plains, School Commissioner Cheney of the Second District, will receive $1,000 extra compensation and $300 for expenses for the year just past Supervisor Reynolds moved that the sum of $9,000 be placed fn the hands of the Superintendent of the Poor for distribution by him to the commanders of the G. A. R. Posts throughout the county. The money Is to be used for the relief of the veterans of the Civil and Spanlsh- American Wars and • their widows who may be In need<. The resolu tlon was adopted unanimously. On motion of Supervisor son, Mrs. Mary F. Loy was appointed janitress of the County Court House at a salary of $540 per year, and Co'unt A. R. Stalnach was re-appolnt- ed Court Interpreter at a salary of $480 per year. The salary of the new County Attorney was placed at $3,000 per yeaf. The tax-was confirmed at a recent meeting, of the Board of Education, and the rate was JUed. at $9,169 on the thousand assessment, against $7.85 last year. Those who went out to Silver Lake Park last night to see Dean wrestle with an opponent from Port Chester were disappointed, as the man from' across the county did not show up.
