North Westchester Times New Castle Tribune, Mount Kisco, N.Y M Dec. 19, 1963 Charles Avery of Peach Lake, formerly of Edgemont Road gave a reading and dramatiza tion of Charles Dickens \A Christmas Carol\ on Saturday at a PTA sponsored Christmas program held at the Katonah Memorial House from 3 to 5 p.m. The Cerasi Singers pro vided Christmas musci and there was carol singing for all. The Women's Guild of the First Presbyterian Church Ka tonah held its election of offi cers at their meeting today, Thursday. A covered dish luncheon was served at 12 noon followed by a Christmas pro gram. Mrs. Orin Grant is again the guild's president. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Virtuoso have moved into their new home in Richfield, Conn. They were former residents of 95 Edge mont Road. Members of Troop 104 of the Katonah Girl Scouts and their leaders, Mrs. Frank Siekmann, Mrs. Gordon Larson and Mrs. John LeGrys, made a trip to the Swiss Home in Mount Kisco on Tuesday for a Christmas par ty and carol stinging for the elderly residents of the home. \The Nations Tell of Christ mas\ a Christmas pageant will be presented on Dec. 22 at 9:30 a.m. in the parish house of the Katonah Methodist Church with all church school children parti- ciapting. There will be no 9:30 a.m. service in the sanctuary that morning. Everyone will meet at the parish house for this special Christmas program. A father-son-daughter break fast will be held on Saturday at 8 a.m. in Fellowship Hall of the First Presbyterian Church as the December meeting of the Men's Club. Special attraction will be a magic show put on by \Uncle Eddie,\ a magician who has charmed many a youngster by both his personal manner and his ability to fool even the most careful eye. The Misses Jessie and Geor- giana Zimmerman of Katonah Avenue will leave on Monday, for Glens Falls, N.Y. where they will spend Christmas with their brother-in-law and sister, Dr. and Mrs. Frank Falkenbury. This will be the first Christmas in 40 years that the brother and sis ters have been together. Follow ing the holiday visit in Glens Falls, Mrs. Crawford and Mr. Zimmerman will return to Ka tonah with the Misses Zimmer man for a further visit. Mr. and Mrs. Donald Hack- ert of Cedar Road, have an nounced the birth of a son on Nov. 21 at the Northern West chester Hospital. The new addi tion to the family has been named Timothy Rae. He has an older brother Brian. Mrs. Eli Antonecchi of Cherry Street, left Tuesday for Georgia to attend the graduation of her son, Joseph, from Oifficers Training School at Fort Ben- ning over the weekend. Mr. and Mrs. Richard Kerst and family of Mount Holly Road traveled to Troy, N. Y. over the weekend in order to bring their daughter, Katrina, home for the Christmas holidays from her studies at the Emma Wil- lard School. Mrs. Richard Diel of Hunt- ville Road spent three days last week visiting her sisters, the Misses Jaen and Peggy Rae in Mount Vernon. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Darling ton 3d of Brooklyn have an nounced the birth of a son on Dec. 1 at the Northern West chester Hospital. Their new son has been named Matthew Ken nedy. They have another son Mark. Mrs. Darlington is the former Miss Janet Hendrickson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C.H. Hendrickson of Bedford Road, Katonah. Mr. Darlington's par ents of So. Bedford Road had left two days prior to the birth of their new grandson, for Ga bon, Africa where Mr. Darling ton was to resume his duties as U. S. Ambassador after a three month leave to the Unit ed States. There is still one Saturday left to take advantage of a baby sitting service conducted by sophomores at the Fox Lane School for mothers who wish to go Christmas shopping. The first session was held Dec. 7, and the last is scheduled for Satur day, Dec. 21. The service will be available from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and will be held at the Fox Lane School gym and com mons. The Middle Patent Garden Club met Wednesday at the home of Mrs. Ralph Bugli, Mia- nus River Road to fill boxes of Christmas goodies for the pa tients of Wingdale Hospital. The boxes were stuffed to over flowing with home made cook ies and cakes, nuts, raisins, candies, cigarettes, etc. The contents of the boxes were don ated by the members of the club. A gala New Year's Eve sup per dance, sponsored by The St. Patrick's Men's Group, will be held on Tuesday, from 9:30 p.m. to 3:00 a.m. in St. Pat rick's School Auditorium. Music will again be supplied by Ted Sapordto's Orchestra. A buffet supper will be served from 10:00 until 11:30 p.m., and there is never a limit to 'cheer.' Mr. and Mrs. Philip Genussa of Millertown Road gave a fare well dinner and party recently for Mr. and Mrs. Louis Koenig, also of Millertown Road, prior to their departure on Dec. 8 for a round-the-world tour. The Genussa's also accompanied Mr. and Mrs. Koenig to Idle- wild Airport for their flight to Rome. The Koenig's five-week trip will include stops at Cairo, Hong Kong, Singapore, Tokyo and a visit to their daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. John Robinson of North Bor neo. Mrs. Robinson is the for mer Miss Lynn Koening of the home address. Richard Muller, the son of Mr. and Mrs. R. S. Muller of Farms Road, has been named to the Dean's List at Amherst College, Mass. Mr. Muller is a 1960 graduate of Fox Lane High School. Robert Westcott, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Westcott of The Old ,Post Road, has pledged Phi Theta Pi fraternity at Carroll College, Waukesha, Wise. Mr. Westcott was one of 20 pledged to the local frater nity. The First Presbyterian Church Katonah will hold its Christmas program and party on Sunday, at 4 p.m. Everyone will gather outside the tower entrance of the church for a 15 to 20 minute carol sing. Follow ing the carol sing, a program will be held in the sanctuary. In this program the Christmas story will be told and music provided by the junior choir, various instruments and con gregational singing. At the con clusion of the program, a party with refreshments will take place in the fellowship hall. Mr. and Mrs. John Wehse and family of Armonk moved Dec. 7 and 8 to 97 Edgemont Road to the house they have purchas ed from the estate of the late Miss Laurel Bump. Both Mr. and Mrs. Wehse are employed at the Northern Westchester Na tional Bank in Chappaqua. Mr. an <i Mrs. Frank Virtuoso of Edgemont Road visited re cently with Mr. and Mrs. Wil liam Nellis at the St. Patricks Home in the Bronx. Mr. and Mrs. Nellis were former resi dents of Edgemont Road who moved to the home several months ago. A Christmas dinner and con cert was held at the First Pres byterian Church on Friday by the Lamplighters, the newly or ganized adults' fellowship for couples and single people. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Downey, Mr. and Mrs. Jason Gordon and Mr. and Mrs. John Mettler were in charge of this year's Christmas dinner. Miss Evelyn McDonald and Ken Walton who were so well received by everyone last year, gave the concert. Carol Sing, Program Set By Pre; KATONAH— Children, young people, par ents and other adults will gath er outsid ethe tower entrance of the Katonah Presbyterian 1 and Miss Wilma Keyes, former residents of Katonah. Mrs. Ruth Riggle of Todd Road will leave on Friday for a Christmas vacation in the Vir gin Islands. The Annual Christmas dinner of the Adult Fellowship of the Katonah Methodist Church was held on Dec. 15 at the parish house with members of the Mothers' Club preparing and serving the dinner. Reception of new members was held at the annual Christ mas program of the Women's Civic Club of Katonah on Thurs day, at the Katonah Memorial House. Katonah Cub Scout Pack 1 held its first pack meeting of the season Dec. 18 at 7:30 in the Katonah Methodist Parish House, it was a Christmas Par ty. The church school children will bring their white gifts to this Christmas program. These white gifts are for other chil dren and will be labelled \boy\ or \girl\ and approximate age. The gifts will be given to sev eral children's hospitals in New York City jointly with gifts from the church school of the Church of the Master in Manhattan. Re cently the junior high fellowship of the Church of the Master and the junior high fellowship of the Katonah Church went on a week end retreat together. At the conclusion of the pro gram in the sanctuary a party with refreshments will take place in the Fellowship Hall. The Bedford Hills Cub Scout Pack No. 110 holds its monthly meeting, Friday, at 7:15 p.m. in the Bedford Hills School. All parents are requested to attend the meeting for the presentation of scout badges. Following the ceremonies, the boys will pre pare a Christmas tree for the Swiss Home in Mount Kisco. The tree, to be trimmed with decorations and a tree stand made by the scouts, will be de livered to the home on Saturday morning. The girls from this troop are selling five pound bags of wild bird seed to raise money for a trip to Washington, D. C in June 1965. Potter will be remem bered as a former pastor of the First Presbyterian Church. Mr. and Mrs. Forbes and Miss Schaefer are also former resi dents of Katonah. Richard Koret of Buxton Road is one of the sponsors for the American Pageant of Fashion and the Arts Dinner to be held Dec. 29 in the grand ballroom of the Waldorf Astoria Hotel, New York City. The holiday sea son event will benefit the Na tional Cultural Center, Washing ton D. C. and the American Shakespeare Festival Theatre and Academy, Stratford, Conn. The Christian social concerns committee of the Bedford Hills Methodist Church met Dec. 12 to plan its course on the church social creed, scheduled to begin Jan. 5.
