The meeting fjjiwas a good example of the in- ;! ^genuity and spirit of the half a ^hundred boys from eight to 'eleven years of age who came j^»to exhibit their handicraft and, faced with a minor crisis, in an unexpected hole in [the program with a rousing ex traneous redition of the |songs which make up the t Cub Scout \Hit Parade.\ h the month's theme de- to \Rivers of America,\ 'HI the ei S nt dens produced five of the Hudson River, two of the Mississippi and one of the Lawrence. The models ranged ||ifrom simple, colored drawings to bas reliefs prepared with papier mache. The earliest set- ^Lting for the Hudson was dated w^gput the year 1600. Others brought the river up to date with the George Washington Bridge, ocean liners, tugs, sub marines, piers and sky scrapers modelled in balsa wood and |||>Ipaper documentary motion picture, '•The Rivers,\ was about to be flashed on the screen, the bulb jy ^the movie projector expired iaPRile a hurried last-minute [search was undertaken for a Substitute projector, H. D. Eller, ^chairman of the Pack Commit tee who conducted the meeting, called on the boys to explain the river models fashioned by each den and to lead the meeting in singing. Thanks to Rev. Kenneth Nye, pastor of the Congregational Church which sponsors the Pack, a substitute movie projector was borrowed from the church and the cubs and their parents then witnessed the inspiring movie which shows the mighty Miss issippi and its tributaries as they wind their multitudinous ways to the sea. During the meeting .Mr. Eller made the following awards: to Ian Finlayson, 1 gold, 3 silver arrows; Douglas Hoeft, 1 gold arrow; Bobby Lambert, 1 silver arrow; Billy Prezzano, Lion badge; Peter Holmes, Wolf badge; Jack Haight, 1 silver arrow; Bill Depperman, Bear badge; Tommy Koehler, Bear badge, 1 gold arrow; James Buckner, Wolf badge; Stephen Walsh, l gold and 1 silver ar row; Stuart Finlayson, Bear oaa^e, 1 gold and 3 silver arrows. A special meeting of the Pack Committee was held at the El ler's residence Tuesday, March 40, for den fathers and Pack of ficials. \Trains and Railroading\ will oe the theme for the coming .nonth. Kear Mr. and Mrs. Carlo Di Santo of 146 Orawampum Street, White Plains, announce the marriage of their daughter, Philomenia Ann, to Haviland Boyd Kear of Bedford Road, Chappaqua, in a civil ceremony by Justice of the Peace G. W. Smyth on March 13. A wedding reception for 7b guests was held at the home of the bride's parents. The couple will live in Whits Plains. BUILDING FUND EVENTS The annual dinner for the community will be served on Fri day, April 6 by the Women's So ciety of the First Congregational Church.
