NEW CASTLE NEWS, THURSDAY, OCTOBER 24, 1946 60P Candidates School Drama Club To Attend Rally Gives Comedy Hit Roller Skates Taking as his subject the time ly question, \Had Enough \ John T. Flynn, noted author and newspaper man, is expected to keynote the spirit of the evening at an old fashioned Republican rally complete with plenty of candidates and an enthusiastic band next Tuesday night at 8:30 in the High School. The meeting, sponsored by the New Castle Republican Club, will also feature the Honorable Ralph A. Gamble, Republican Con gressman from this district now running for re-election. Other candidates expected to attend are, State Senator Pliny W. Williamson, Assemblyman Theodore Hill, Jr., County Clerk Robert J. Field and County Judge Elbert T. Gallagher. \The candidates, other than Ralph Gamble are not scheduled to speak\ says Paul R. Reynolds, President of the New Castle Re publican Club, \but they will welcome the opportunity of meeting as many of the Repub licans, Independents and their friends as possible after the meeting.\ Other honored guests will be, Robert B. Stewart, Chairman of the New Castle Town Committee, and Mary Krone, Vice-chairman of the Town Committee. Greeley-ites Hear Canteen Ideas This year the first Dramatic Club production will be \You Can't Take It With You\ under the direction of Miss Risoli. This play will be given on Oct. 25 and 26 at 8:15 P. M. The tickets are $.60 and $.96, the latter for re served seats. Tickets may be ob tained from any Dramatic Club member and at Cadman's Drug Store. Edith Meyer, Mimi Haas, Mer rill Laurence and Alan Collins from Horace Greeley High School, and Dick Lawrence, New Castle Recreation director, at tended the Westchester Youth Club Council meeting in White Plains on Sunday afternoon. The purpose of the organization is to make possible an exchange of in formation and ideas through dis cussion, to aid youth clubs in solving their problems, to pro mote new clubs and aid them in getting started. Those attending from New New Castle went as unofficial representatives of the teen-agers of the town to find out how other youth canteens were founded and how they operate. Richard Lawrence, New Castle's new part-time Recreation Di rector, performed valiantly in helping the Dads get ready for this program and assisted throughout the evening. As usual, refreshments were served free and exactly 12 gallons of cider and 3 cases of soda pop were consumed. Hosts and hostesses of the eve ning were: Mr. and Mrs. J. J. Kennedy, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Wilkins, Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Sinnott, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Hagberg, Mr. and Mrs. Donald Earl, Ralph Figgatt and Matt Antonovich. In addition to its incorporation this year in the Hallow'en party program, Open House will be conducted for the balance of this year on Nov. 9th, 23rd and Dec. 7th. From Jan. through April 1947 inclusive, there will be two Open House dates per month. Through these Open House pro grams the Chappaqua Dads Club is giving its exclusive attention to the recreational needs of our youth with whatever facilities they find available to them. Criticism and suggestions are welcomed and new members are always sought.
