~ 2° THE OCTAGON,THURSDAY, MAY 19, 1988 A Fond Farewell Dear Seniors: In a short while you will be leaving us at Elmira College for a time. We will miss you and will look forward to hearing from you and to hearing of you from others as you move on to further suc- cesses in the future. We will miss you, and yet we are proud enough of you and of your skills, knowledge, and accom- plishments to be glad for you, at the same time; to be glad for the new opportunities you will have to make new friends and to grow in many ways, to prove yourselves to others who have not yet had the chance to know you as we do and to feel the confidence in you that we feel. We know that you will represent Elmira College well in your future endeavors. As you leave us, as you ap- proach new challenges, as you meet new opportunities, I trust that you will share the mixture of - fC'am'p‘os Center __ Elmira, N.Y. 14901 Editors in Chiet ~ Christine Goulet Kristina Heit . Elmira College has been your \home\ in some sense for some considerable time, and at a critical stage of your development. We hope that you will continue to think of us in that way as the years move on, and will keep us in your hearts and minds as you stride forward into your future. Keep in touch with us. So much has been done, learned and experien- ced in those four years that it's dif- ficult to remember it all. Freshmen year, can you believe all those stupid things we did during Buddy Week or how much fun we had dancing at the Foun- dry? Then sophomore when we got serious (yeah-right) about our studies, and we knew most of the ins and outs of college life. Our poor little buds will probably never be the same again. Junior year we began to accept responsibility for our own lives and maybe even thought about the future. Who knows where senior year went? Over the years at Elmira College, I think that the Class of 1988 has learned a lot about them- selves and each other. We've become friends and so much more to one another. As Commen- cement approaches and we reflect on our years here, each remem- . bers something special that will always be a cherished memory. Together we've grown and ex- perienced college life, and as we pass across the stage on May 29th we will think of one - another and look forward to the future.
