12 THE OCTAGON, THURSDAY, MAY 19, 1988 This year the Elmira College Theatre Department will be per- forming an original - musical comedy, Hotel Romeo and Juliet- te. This will sadly be the last production for five seniors who will be graduating from Elmira College at the end of May. However, their last performances will be very original for them. Carina Andersson is a theatre and music major. She came to Elmira from Trelleborg, Sweden. in this year's musical Carina will play the role of Madeline Paillardin. She was last seen as the grandmother in the one-act opera Little Red Ridding Hood. Earlier this spring she played Kate Heller: in The Miracle Worker. Robert Sheridan, a dominant figure in many of the college productions, will continue working with Elmira College professor Am- non Kabatchnik this summer in New Hampshire. Rob will be playing the role of Benoit Pinglet in Hote! Romeo and Juliette. Among the many roles that he has performed during his years here, Rob was outstanding in his por- trayals of Captain Keller in The Miracle Worker, and Paul in Car- nival. He came to Elmira College four years ago from Syracuse, NY and will be receiving a bachelor of arts degree in theatre. Jane Goold, came to Elmira from the Albany area. She will be playing the part of Angelique Pinglet in the musical. In this year's production of The Miracle Worker, Jane was superb in the role of teacher Anne Sullivan. She also played the leading role of Kate in Shakespeare's The Taming of the Shrew, last fall. Jane plans on taking her theatre degree to New York City after graduation to continue studying theatre while making the rounds for an acting career. John - Williams - has been studying theatre and computer science at Elmira College for three and a half years. He will be graduating in May with a degree in Theatre. in Hotel Romeo and Juliette, John will play the humorous role of Mathew Charles. John's other credits include parts in The Taming of the Shrew, and Carnival. He has worked for the past 2 years as Business Manager for the Theatre Department, and is Pictured from left to right: Jane Goold, Jennifer D. Thoman. Carina Anderason. John Williams and Rob Sheridan. hoping to have an administrative position with a resident theatre company in New Jersey after graduation. Jennifer Thoman is an inter- national business major at Elmira 'College. She has worked as the master electrician for the Theatre Department for the past year. Along with her lighting assign- ments, Jen was on stage in The Taming of the Shrew, and last years musical Carnival. She has been active in sports, and upon graduation hopes to find a position with an international business firm. We would like to congratulate these five hard-working students for successfully completing their degrees at the college and wish them the best in the future. You will all be greatly missed!
