PAGE 3 Seniors vs Juniors PAPERSUN by Tom The first annual senior-junior flag football classic resulted in an impressive victory by the seniors 30-6. Not to be rattled by a first period T.D. by the juniors, the senior squad, led by quarterback Mark Renfro, came out to score five successive T.D.’s. The senior running attack was slowed by periodic rain, forcing ace q.b. Renfro to go to the air. The first T.D. was set up by a diving catch by John Sportelli, coming right back to Sportelli on the next play for the T.D. The juniors took over and played ball controll football but failed to scroe. The second touchdown for the seniors was a Renfro-to-Sportelli bomb again. The juniors started another drive only to be thwarted due to an interception by Pete Bondzin- ski. Renfro again went to the air, but this time to speedster Mike Card, resulting in another T.D. Thus leaving the half time score 18^6. The juniors came back in the second half with a tremendous drive but this time Mike Generali stepped in front of a pass attempt Rag Football This years’ Flag Football season comes to us with a new face, two separate divisions, with each team playing four games in its own division. From there, the top two teams will play in a division championship to represent that division in the Utica/Rome Toilet Bowl. The schedules are posted in Bldg. 7, next to the SAB office. Room 104, but for those who can’t fine the time to look it up, the schedule goes something like this: Wednesday Division Lo-cal Sugar Leftovers Andes Ave. Trojans Trouble ■ Justice iiooaq Gilmore and took it 40 yards for another senior touchdown. The juniors then played control ball for the remainder of the third period. The seniors only got off one play in the third quarter, unfortunately for the juniors it turned into a 50 yard touchdown play on a pass from Renfro to tight end Tim Gilmore, making the score 30-6. The remainder of the game was excellent defensive ball by both squads, and shows good promise for an excellent season. Students Take Two From WOUR F.M . By Jonas Peteikas What a better way of spending a Sunday afternoon than playing softball and drinking beer. Well that’s exactly what some students have been doing the past couple of Sundays. Vinny Vento, came up with the idea of playing WOUR- FM in a softball game. Vinny and myself went down to the radio station and our challenge was accepted. WOUR-FM who has played all summer long was destroyed by the students, who never played together as a team before, 13-5 in the first game. The pitching was good, backed with good fielding and hitting. WOUR-FM was not going to take this loss sitting down, as they announced over the air that they were awaiting for a rematch. As it turned out WOUR was up for the second game, unfortunately the students held off WOUR, to edge them 6-5. Fantastic catches in the outfield and good defensive play in the infield, helped to preserve the winning tradition. ¡ova t T llh Thursday Division High Life Hotel No-Names Suryivors?
