Friday, April 9, 1976. PAPERSUN PAGE 2 The Campbell Life by KEVIN DWYER The other day, wondering whether I was lazy or just plain crazy, I thought I’d go out for a bite to eat and the first thing that I met was two all beef patties, special sauce, pickles, onions, lettuce, cheese, on a sesame seed bun, with a Pepsi generation knowing that you gat alot to live and Pepsi’s got alot to give I felt like living free. I hurried on down to Hardy’s, where the hamburgers are charcoal broiled. Remember ing what the Colonel told me about hamburgs, hotdogs, baked pota toes, meat loaf, fiver, stewed tomatoes, meal time can be a big bore when everything tastes like the day before. I decided to stop and hold the pickles, hold the lettuce, special orders don’t upset us, all we ask is that you have it your- way. Doing it all for you, made me think that good food turns me on so, I turned into Carrols where seeing the light I had an uncola and doubling my pleasure, doubling my fun I had two big Mac’s instead of one. Finding out the Dairy Queen was pregnant, because the Burger King couldn’t control his Whopper, I thought I was One of a Kind because I knew that a Sunwich is better than a sandwich, and all I ask is to give me the Campbell Life. ATTENTION ATTENTION - A survey is underway to determine the needs for a nursery school or drop in center for small children of parents attending Upper Division College. If you are a parent or interested in this project, please stop in the Activities & Housing Office and leave your name, Bldg. I, Rm. 225 with George Pudney or Carol Crooms. How I Was Sexually Aroused by an Eggplant By ED DUNIEC Well I got your attention! Isn’t is ridiculous what it takes to get ones attention? My message isn’t exactly what the article implies, here me out and hopefully you will be aroused. You see what I have to say concerns everyone and if you get something out of it, maybe I will tell you of my encounter with an eggplant. I am appalled by the lack of student response to the Placement Seminars that are being conduct ed. Many people refer to this lack of concern as apathy. I call it lack of common sense. These seminars are designed to prepare us to launch effective job search campaigns. They teach us the proper methods of writing and use of resumes and cover letters, as well as interviewing techniques. Equally important, we are given an insight of the world of employment - its quirks, opportu nities, and benefits. Attend a session and realize how much there is to learn. We have been grinding away and the beginning of a career. Our college is offering us all kinds of opportunities in achieving this goal. We are not taking advantage of this opportunity! Is it apathy or lack of common sense? Flea Market Sunday The Second Annual Upper Division College Flea Market and Crafts Sale is being held this Sunday, April 11 from 10 a.m. to 5. p.m. Over 30 craftspeople from the Mohawk Valley area are expected to participate. In addition, the day will feature a flea market called the “Barn and Attic” a book sale, a bake sale and a food sale featuring “gourmet” and near gourmet items. Admission to the Flea Market and Crafts Sale is free and it will be held rain or shine. All proceeds are being donated to the College Student Emergency Loan Fund. I’m not your being Have never lived in your life’s space Am another self, touching your self gently. How to be comfortably reassuring That a love one lost Is not all love lost There is more love to give If our selves touch, take my love, It’s yours To place around your shoulders To solace sorrow, and temper tears. The main purpose of this Flea Market and Craft Fair is to raise money for the Student Emergency Loan Fund. Alan Latona, Director of Financial Aid, has prepared the following report so that students at Utica/Rome can see the value and necessity of raising money. The loan from the College Association must be repaid. At one point in February we had $.81 left in the Fund. 1973-74 1974-75 9/75-2/25/76 Balance at Start Number of Loans Total Amount Loaned Average Loan Balance at End Loan from Coll.
