We will concen trate on written language but will also consider the entire learning environment. Participants will have hands-on experi ence with word processing, outlining, spell checking, speech output, discovery learning and more using Apple, IBM and Macintosh computer systems and compatible software. Other strategies such as tape recording, notetakers and optical read ers will also be discussed. Demonstrations bn applications for successful integration of students with learning disabilities will be explored 8:15 - 8:30 Registration and Refreshments 8:30 -12:00 Program 12:00-1:00 Lunch (on your own) 1:00-4:30 Program Technology Seminar Series All of the technology seminars follow basically the same format. They will use a team approach with interactive prob lem-solving sessions involving teachers, parents and students. The integration of print, video and technological resources will address the practical and advocacy dimensions of the topic. All seminars will take place in the Techspress Lab at the Resource Center for Independent Living, 409 Columbia Street in Utica. Each seminar is limited to 30 individuals registered on a first- come, first-served basis. You do not need a technology base to attend these seminars. Presenters: Russell Holland - Developer and Director of Techspress, the Technology Access Program of the Resource Center for Inde pendent Living. He is state certified as a teacher of the handi capped. Edie Weintraub - Technology Consultant, Techspress Pro gram of the Resource Center for Independent Living. Edie provides adaptive equipment consultation to consumers, par ents and professionals, as well as equipment use training and system advocacy.
