Dear Student, On March 12, 13 and 14 your student government, URSA, will be holding elections for the following positions: Pres ident Vice President Treas urer Sec retary Senators (6 positions available) . Along with the election of new officers we w i l l be voting on a new constitution which w i l l ta k e e f f e c t upon th e sw e a r i n g in o f new officers. Major changes in the constitution include college name change, the • representation of full and part-time, and graduate students, gramatical errors and job descriptions for a l l officers. I encourage you to review the changes in the constitution and make your vote for new officers and the new constitution on March 1 2 , 13, and 14. I f you would like to view the constitution in its entirety i t will be made available at the voting tables and in the URSA office Campus Center room 2 15. Cordially yours, Charisse Ellis URSA President How many of you SUNY students knew about the most recent meeting with the students held by President Cayan, Vice President Dan Howard, introducing the NEW ACTING Dean of Business, Gary D. Scherzer? Not many a-fc—a ii considering the attendance of the group who showed up. There was a month notice and i t was posted in the Business wing in A/S/T Building (THAT IS IF YOU ARE COUNTING MONTHS!!). But in a l l actuality i t could not have been more than 24 hours from the time the memorandums were posted. They were posted on February 28 th and the spur of the moment meeting was held the next day at 12 noon, which i f you check your c a l e n d a r , w o u l d be March 1 st (considering that this is not a leap year). This meeting was held to discuss the current status of the Dean of Business position. But^fetee students who showed.up to support Professor Orilio^ and^tr.find out why ho me qq I/ o H Ln step his position were disappointed when their were answered with \NO COMMENT . Let's raise « o roe— H E L 1» and get to the this very annoying topic^ that willing to talk about. We feel the should hold another meeting for who- were unaware of this past he as questio ns was asked to Acting Dean, b ot t om of nobody is pres ident those students meeti ng. This time give us more notice. Because in our book, or any book with half a brain, ample advertisement and time would have been done out of common courtesy. The 1/2 dozen MEMO'S placed in A/S/T didn't quite do the job (or did it)? This w i l l also allow President Cayan to come up with some other excuse other than \NO COMMENT\. Maybe he can learn that phrase in some other interesting languages. Here is one; ONAY OMMENTCAY see i f you can figure this one out. No matter how i t is spelled or said it s t i l l means the same thi ng. The students demand and deserve some answers, and correct ones! President Cayan, when asked why i t was held on such short notice said he wanted to clear the air as soon as possible. There was nothing cleared at a l l , a l l that was accomplished was to STIR the a i r . President Cayan also said that i f the students wanted to have another forum he would gladly set up one with URSA. We say \le t ' s take him up on his offer\ and have one some time after Spring Break. Hopefully this time there will be better answers to the students questions, along with a better turnout of students the second time around. Please contact The Factory Times i f you are interested. We are located in room 2 1 6 of the Campus Center, or call us at 792-7426. The Editors
