Noth ing happened last week and noth ing probably will this week. That is nothing to further the cause of Rosendaie ’ s basket-ball team. My hat ’ s off (yes, I own a hat) to Hank Yonnette. He intended to try and manage the team this year. Of course, he expected all of this “ diamond stars ” to play, and they undoubtedly will. At any rate Hen ry watched last week ’ s practice session and then came to this con clusion. He figured that while he ’ s able to tell the fellows what to do on the ball field he couldn ’ t do so on the floor. He admits that he has a meager knowledge of base ball, but basketball . . . not on your life. So Mr. Yonette wishes to retire from the realm of sports until this coming spring. So long Hank, see you in April. It seems to me that I was ap pointed booking manager by Hokey Rask. My sentiments to ward the job have nothing to do with it. He appointed me and I ’ m just supposed to make the best of it. Well maybe. My only hope is this . . . That I have more suc cess booking teams, if I do take the job, than he has in organizing them. As far as I know there will be no practice this week. All of the boys are rarin ’ to go. But as long as the hall stays locked up they won ’ t be able to. Sure . . . they ran around Monday night for awhile. And . . . the next day they were so doggone stiff they could hard ly walk. Conservative Steve Moc- ko and lazy me were the only two fellows that didn ’ t over exert them selves. There ’ s an excuse for me. I can ’ t play. As I said before Steve felt it foolhardy to “ wreck ” him self in the first practice. Don ’ t forget there ’ s a long hard season ahead. Maybe Hokey and Davey will formulate some plans and get this thing underway. I hope so. Our congenial superintendent, Mr. Stee- ley, is always ready to get the hall in shape for the fellows if he has a little advance notice. And that is that. No more to say so perhaps I ’ d do better if I shut-up. Thanks for bearing with me. So long and thanks again. ♦3 F-M (TN) S-+0 <T*0 <r*3 G-*0 c*9 <4 SOCIAL PARTY ^ Sponsored by Holy Name Society ST.
