THE SUN & RECORD, THURSDAY, OCTOBER 25,2007 5 Our town is fortunate to have Hoffman Dear Williamson Voters, As long time residents of Williamson, we have seen and worked with many public servants, plus seen numerous changes in our community. We feel our town is fortunate to have Jim Hoffman as our supervisor. He is involved in many activities and organizations that will add to his resume to help guide future changes to the town. We know Jim through two of these organizations. Jim is member of the Wil liamson American Legion Post 394 where he holds the office of Post Adjutant. In this position Jim is responsible for meet ing minutes, all post correspondence and also serves on the executive committee. As a long time member of Williamson Presbyterian Church, you will find Jim willing to accept mundane tasks along with working on the personnel commit tee. He is also a great supporter of the church's youth program. We find Jim always willing to talk with people individually or in groups. His of fice door is open and he is around town noting where things could be improved. We feel that you as voters in William son should support Jim Hoffman in the November election. Thanks Joann and Curt DeBrine Supports Supervisor Hoffman Letters to Editor; Williamson Supervisor James D. Hoff man has expressed his desire to continue his exemplary role as Williamson's Su pervisor well into the future. With his proven commitment to the needs of Williamson as well as Wayne County, which he has shown in his past performance, I say,\Cast your ballot in support of Jim for at least another term as Supervisor of Williamson Town, East Williamson and The hamlet of Pult- neyyille.\ By George George H. Shoales Williamson Door-to-door canvass for UNICEF Dear Editor; With Halloween in Sodus comes one of our finer traditions, the annual door- to-door canvass for UNICEF. Children and adults from the member congregations of the Sodus Council of Churches will fan out across the Sodus cornmmunity seeking donations for this worthy cause. Our member churches will also have collection boxes at the churches for those who are not contacted during the door-to-door appeal. The Sodus Council of Churches has designated this year's collection to help end malaria. Malaria is an age-old killer of children, taking the lives of some one million individuals every year - prima rily children under the age of five. A very generous offer has been received from Malaria No More - an organization dedi cated to helping combat malaria - that could double the impact of your gift. The matching grant will match all gifts dollar for dollar. Every donation will be doubled. The low-cost, but highly effective ap proaches are the hallmark of all of UNICEF's efforts to do whatever it takes to save the lives of children. No other humanitarian organizations in the world saves more lives than UNICEF and no other organization has the reach and ex perience of UNICEF to take on the chal lenge of ensuring the survival of the world's children. Stevenson's heart is in serving the residents Dear Wilma and voters of Williamson: I would like the voters of Williamson to seriously consider Linda Stevenson for Supervisor when going to the polls on November 6. When Linda gets involved in an organization she gives her all to ful fill whatever commitment she has made. When her two boys were involved in athletics and other events while attend ing Williamson Senior High School, Linda was always there, not only to sup port them but the team, coaches and school. When publicity for some of her son's athletic events were needed, Linda pitched in to write them up, leading to her association with The Sun & Record that continues to this day. In her role as contributing writer for The Sun & Record, Linda has attended many town and county board meetings. She has been able to observe first-hand, how each body conducts its business. She has learned the ins and outs of agendas, committee organization and operation, as well as the structures of both bodies. She is up to speed on many of the issues con fronting Doth the town and county, so there will be a minimal learning curve should she be elected. This fall has found Linda very involved in care giving for her mother, exhibiting the compassion and dedication that she exhibits in any situation that she becomes involved in. Her time to meet and share her story and concerns with the voters has been limited, but her heart is in serving the residents of the Town of Williamson as Supervisor. Perry Howland Pultneyville Give Nancy your consideration Dear Editor, It is my pleasure to support Nancy Jor dan as a candidate for the Williamson Town Board. I have known Nancy for forty years and have a keen appreciation for ner professionalism, integrity and work ethic. She is a long time member of our community and has consistently sup- E orted Williamson and the people of Wu- amson. Nancy has a vision for Williamson that includes continuing to make our town more attractive for businesses and more hospitable for residents. As a Chamber of Commerce leader and a business owner on Main Street she is in touch with our collective community interests and can build upon our strengths. Williamson has been blessed to have willing and capable people step forward year after year to work on behalf of us all. We have an opportunity to select a trustee to our town this year who has an uncommon package of strength, convic tion and compassion along with a wealth of experience. My strong belief is that Nancy will be an immediate, positive con tributor to our town board. Nancy can join this team and work with them to con tinue the improvements that our commu nity desires and deserves. She will bring balance and a perspective that you can be certain will be well researched. She is accessible and accountable and will lis ten to her constituents. On Election Day, Tuesday November 6, give Nancy your consideration. Sincerely, Michael A. Herbert, DDS Williamson It is our hope and prayer that the many people we contact on Sunday will be moved to share the blessings we enjoy in this country with those who are less for tunate around the world.
