That has all happened in about one week’s time. Tracey and Dean have bare ly had time to process what has happened let alone make arrangement for their af fairs. Aside from Blake, Tracey has a 10 year old son. She had only one evening to spend with him and explained as much as he could understand. She had to tell him she had to go to New York City in the morning to be with Baby Blake. It was the hardest decision a mother would have to make, to leave one son behind to help another. Dean is not able to be with Tracey and his first born son, due to having to work to keep his family financially afloat. Tracey is hours away from her friends and family with no idea where anything is. Dean will visit as often as possible, as travel is expensive. Tracey graduated from North Rose Wolcott, and Dean from Clyde Savan nah. Family are still in the Wayne Coun ty area. This is a rare congenital heart defect that ef fects the muscle development of the heart. Due to its recent establishment as a diagnosis and rarity, research and treat ment is very limited. Baby Blake was put on a ventila tor and a managed plan of medications. Doctors at Strong tried many attempts to get Blake’s heart to improve, but it was determined on September 6th, that his heart is too weak and damaged to func tion on its own. He needs a heart trans plant to survive. After getting the confor mation that a Heart Transplant is Blake’s only option, Tracey and Dean were told that he would be transferred to Mount Si nai Hospital in New York City to await the transplant as soon as a bed was avail able for him. A few hours later, they were notified that Baby Blake would be trans ferred to NYC the very next morning at 10 am by airplane ambulance.
