The show will feature the work of 24 artists with rep resentation from the class of ’72 through the class of 2010. We are very excited to continue this tradition. It’s a wonder ful way to see just what kind of art our former students are producing now and catch up with them in a social setting at the opening. Retired art instructor Deborah Teska organized the show. She is excited to see that many students keep on produc ing art; while some have jobs in the arts, many just produce art because they love it. The media that they are using includes graphic arts, digital art, woodcarving, acrylic paint, colored pencil, marker, wa- tercolor, and a myriad of mixed media. So who is still involved in the arts and why? Claudia Arend (2009) sent in three pieces; two are ink jet images that she took on a mission trip to Africa. Class of 1981 graduate Tim Nihoff has a graphic arts business in Maine so he sent small graphics pieces. Hannah Morse (2006) recently applied for graduate studies to the Savannah College of Art and Design so she entered three provocative black and white images produced for scholar ship competition. Ali Dean (2008) re cently graduated from Ithaca College; her photographs are from her Senior Thesis Exhibition. Mike Perez (1994) creates stunningly beautiful wood carv ings and the fish he has submitted for exhibition will be a crowd favorite. Katie Snyder (2006) presents with 4 marker creations from her ballet inspired collection”! Love Ballet, I Love Dance”. The images feature KatieLis Designs in collaboration with Danza Ballet, a Bar celona based Ballet Magazine. Her work will be featured in their October issue and they will be creating dance bags and t-shirts using her images. Other artists who will be display ing work include: Kelley Shipley Allen, Robyn Chapin Bridson, Tom Bush, Don Camp, Erin Cay wood Conners, David Ilf’ ||!!U , 'If Wayne Central School District Makes the Grade The New York State Department of Education recently announced the “Re ward Schools” for the 2012-13 school year. We know that the Ontario Pri mary, Elementary and Ereewill staff and leadership are integral to the success of our students. Being recognized in this manner is nice but not surprising, espe cially when we examine the measures used to earn this recognition. I would like to thank the elementary leadership at each of our three buildings along with their staff for all they do on a daily basis to contribute to the success of our stu dents,” stated Assistant Superintendent for Instruction, Joseph Siracuse.
