Pal-Mac Boys Basketball Top Marion 72-48 After Marion's Luke Lauffenburger hit a 3-pointer from the top of the arc to draw the host Black Knights to within 52-44 with 4:46 remaining in the game, Palm- yra-Macedon coach Chip Tatro called timeout. Tam told his Red Raiders to just exec- ute their offense and getpthe ball inside $0 center Nate Kenyon, who ended up scor- ing a team-high 18 points. When play resumed, Pal-Mac did just that. ' Kenyon score twice from down low to spark a 10-0 run as the Red Raiders went on to defeat the Black Knights 72-48. Pal-Mac's experience was able to hold off the Black Knights' youth in their Decem- ber 18th game. Tatro said he was pleased that the Red Raiders (4-0, 5- 1) received contribution from so many players as injuries and foul trouble slowed Pal-Mac. Beside Matt LeMoyne (16 points, 8 assists, and 5 steels.)- and Jim Rouland (13 points and 10 rebound) also hitting in double figures for the Red Raiders, Tatro said that Justin Tome (2 points and Dave Ward (8 points) were two of the players who gave him quality minutes because of injuries and foul trouble against the Black Knights (4- 1, 5- 1) forcing him. to go 10- deep on his roster. Marion coach Jim Christie said Pal- Mac was quicker than they thought and because of that quickness, \Their pressure just put us above our comfort zone.\ Christie said his team spent the game shooting from the outside while the Red Raiders were able to either get the ball inside or to take advantage of their offen- sive rebounding from missed outside shots. \We spent the night shooting 12- to 15-footers while Pal-Mac was able to get the ball inside for 3- or 4-footers,\ he said The Red Raiders' ability to get the ball Pal-Mac's Nate Kenyon - inside when necessary helped them hold ers (6) , and Matt Brooks, (2), also con- off the Black Knights, who made a run at tributed offensively for the Black them in each quarter but* could never get Knights. close that three point during the game.
