A 15 year old Palmyra-Macedon student was suspended following his arrest on Thursday evening by both the Palmyra and Macedon Police Depart- ments. The name of the boy could not be released by police, due to his age. The Times' however, learned his identity from other sources as, Jonathan Magee, residing at 2048 Jonathan Maaee waynei0rt Road. 1995-96 yearboak~hoto He was charged by each of the two departments with Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the third Degree, a class D Felony. He reportedly was carrying a -380 caliber Beretta shoved in the front belt of his pants. Magee was in the high school bus loop talking to severa1 students and allegedly pulled the gun out to show them. Statements to police indicate the teen was \showing off' the loaded gun Magee got into an argument and, according to statements, threatened to shoot another student. and at one point removed a clip of bul- lets to show it was actually loaded. He then got on a school bus to go home. While on the bus, Magee got into an argument and, according to statements, threatened to shoot another student. Jeffrey Our three boys just came back in the house from playing outside my widow in the snow. (Upper New York State win- ters. I'd forgotten how much snow we'll get here!) The kettle's on the stove and the mugs are patiently waiting for the hot chocolate. There's red noses and cheeks, and cool hands waiting to be warmed up. This is an exciting time of year, espe- cially if you're a kid, or even a kids at heart. (My wife will tell you I fall into th$l latter category.) It seems everyday now our youngest wakes up asking, \Is today Christmas Day? Has Santa come yet?' What does Christmas mean to you? Unfortunately, for many in today's socie- ty, Christmas brings anxiety. Anxiety over the rush of the season. Anxiety over feeling lonely if you're away from fami- ly, and the anxiety of getting January's VISA and Master Card bill. Does it have to be this way? No. Many people today live a lifestyle I refer to as \event driven.\ We run around going 150 mph five and a half days a week, jumping from one event to the next. Let's see, there's kids to school, business dinners, after school basketball games, hockey, band, and let's not forget the weekly grocery shopping excursion. Now, all of a sudden, we find ourselves in the midst of another Christmas season with even more events to run to! Just when does the breaking point arrive? At some point we need to slow down, take a deep breath, and stop running from event to event. This year my prayer is that Christmas will be much more than just another event-driven time of the year. At New Beginnings FMC we're celebrating the season, not simply an event. Christmas really is much more than just an event. It's a season when we should be able to slow down and simply say '%hank you.\ Some two thousand years ago a little baby boy was born in a stable in Bethle- hem. This baby boy was much more than just another crying infant.. This little baby boy was, and is, \Emmanuel God with us.\ There truly was more taking place in that stable than meets the eye. As I write this month's article, I'm lis- tening to a CD of my brother's band. The title cut really captures the idea of our theme of \More Than Meets The Eye.\ '50 Much bve\ So much love, it overflows, So much joy, more than I've ever known. So much peace, I don't understand, Lord how can you love this man? There really is - more than meets. the eye going on here. My prayer is that you will truly experience a Christmas that's season driven, not event driven.
