Friday, FAruary 20,1948 THE BUFFALO BEE PAGE FIVE Sunday Picked As U. B. Day In Auditorium Mavericks Face Unbeaten Moiling Sextet Next Sunday afternoon haa beeni^ designated a* U. B. Day at Mem orial Auditorium. In the feature game of a tripleheader, the Mav ericks will endeavour to snap a Holling Press victory string ex tending for two seasons and six teen games. Elarlier this season Holling defeated U. B. 4-2. At pres ent the Mavericks are in a battle for third place as they trail G.O.P. by two points. Principal threats to Holllng’s reign, lie in the Okie Irish line. W ith Bob Stockton and Kenny Reis on the wings, this trio has notched ten goals in the last two games. Irish leads the team in goals with seven, while Reis has live, Stockton six. Other threats are Norm Mang, Don Bol- ander and “Scottle” Scott. Al though a decided underdog, the team is \up” and could easily turn the tables. It Is hoped th a t a large number of U. B. students will attend to cheer the team on. Tickets can be bought in Norton Union lobby and sixty cents will perm it you to watch three hockey games featur ing the four top team s in the Sen ior Division and the top two teaims in the Junior section. The Mavericks jumped away to a 3-0 lead in the first period on two goals by Reis and one by Stockton. Mader got one back but Reis came through with the hat trick to re store the three goal lead.
