Blue Point Community Civic Association We as a group have made a positive contribution to the community we call home. Add your voice and become part of the effort to maintain our quality of life. Monthly meetings are held the first Wednesday of each month, 7:30 pm, at the Blue Point Fire Dept upstairs meeting room. Membership dues are a mere $10.00 per year. All in our community are welcome to attend, but membership is encouraged. Cake and coffee are served prior to the start of the meeting, so come a little early and get to know your neighbors. Please use the rear entrance of the firehouse, and for safety sake, enter at the south driveway and exit at the north driveway. Thank you and hope to see you there. Our Lady of the Snow Outreach Office and Food Pantry Proudly serving the needs of our neighbors in the Bayport-Blue Point area for the past 30 years. Bayport Heritage Association Bayport Heritage Association sponsors guided tours of the 1891 Meadow Croft summer estate of John Roosevelt and family on Middle Road at the Sayville- Bayport border on Brown's River. Docents will guide you through the main house, carriage house, and grounds every Sunday, June through October at 1:00 and 3:00 pm. Suggested donation: $3.00 adults, $1.00 for seniors and ages 5-12. VOICE OF THE FAITHFUL : If you are Catholic and want more account- ability and a voice in how your church and diocese is governed, consider joining VOTF. COMMUNITY BLOOD DRIVE: For the 33rd year, Our Lady of the Snow, in conjunction with LI Blood Services, will be holding a COMMUNITY BLOOD DRIVE on Monday, Oct. 2, 2006, between the hours of 3:30 to 8:45 PM in the Church Auditorium on Blue Point Ave. Any person, ages 16 to 76, weighing at least 110 pounds, who is in good health and who has not donated blood in the past six weeks, is eligible to give blood. Sixteen-year olds must have an official Blood Drive Permission Form signed by a parent. Adults over the age of 76 must have a note from their physician that they are able to donate blood. All donors must provide a photo I.D. and know their Social Security number. Babysitting available. For more information call 631-567-9418 Gallery Art Show Opening Mary A. and Mary B. are the Gilmore Girls and they are showing their artworks at the Fine Arts and Fiber Studio-Gallery at 570 Middle Rd, Bayport, NY 11705. The opening for the show is September 16, 2006 from 1 to 4 PM. Mary B. started water- color painting at age 60 and continued painting until she was 93. Mary A. has been painting in watercolors as well, but her techniques are unusual because she combines pastel and airbrushing to the water colors for a very unusual effect. Her paintings are of local Long Island scenes. American Dance Theatre of Long Island will be hosting its 2nd annual Chinese Auction on Sunday, October 15, 2006. Doors open at 2pm for viewing.
