HOBART PLAYERS SEEK \ Y 1 HONORS Kappa Sigma Five Takes Decision From. Waterloo; Semi-Finals Begin Tonight Boasting thirty-four teams in ac tion, the fourteenth annual Easter bas ketball tournament opened Monday at the local Y M C A . The quints are divided into four classes this year: Junior, Intermediate, Senior B, and Senior A. A trophy will be presented to the winning team in each division as well as the a w a r d of group recog nition to the best sportsman-athlete in each class. A n innovation in the tournament finds the selection of all- star teams by the participants. A foul shooting contest will be included on the program Saturday afternoon. Several Hobart cagers are seeing action with various outfits in the com petition. T h e K a p p a Sigma fraternity entered a strong team consisting of Herb Fitch, Bob Yates, Burt Knapp, Bob Huse, Bud Walsh, Ross Zor now, and Jim Newmann, while the Hobart Hell-Divers include Bob Burns, Bob Beswick, Lew Konefal, Dick Kimball, O llie Wilhelm, Tommy Hart, and Ed Burke. The Waterloo Zephs w b o lost to Kappa Sigma on Tuesday evening had Bill Christian, Bill Mack, Johnny Hopper, and Andy Stertzer in the line-up. Frosh Lacrosse Ten Approaches Top Form “ Tookie” C o le’s frosh lacrosse men started doing th e ir chores outside this week as they began striving for peak form before tb e season’s opener ten days hence. Considerably lighter than previous freshmen squads, this year s outfit makes u p in speed and dexterous stick handling what it lacks in beef. \\ ith only a few experienced stickmen avail able when practice began, lookie las whipped h i s crew into pretty fair shape. The inside attack and center field combination has shown to par ticular advantage.
