The JTobari Herald, 211 “ The personal interest of the students, next to their studies, is concentrated alone on sport which draws their attention altogether from aesthetic pursuits. Football, before all, is loved uncommonly and is practiced in such a fashion that academic and State authority are near forbidding it altogether.\ Nine baseball players of Iowa University have agreed not to play baseball this year. They say that under the rules they are profes sionals and assert further that there are no amateur players of skill in any college in the United States. A member of Yale’s faculty says that there may be trouble in dis posing of the $130,000 that has accumulated in the past twelve years. Even allowing $30,000 for a new boat house and baseball cage, they think the remaining $100,000 will stick to them as did gold to King Midas. Eighty students at Cornell and 10 per cent, of those at New York University “ flunked ” the mid-year exams. New Dartmouth Hall, replacing the one destroyed two years ago, was dedicated Feb. 17. It is the most expensive building at Dart mouth. It is of red brick, 150 ft. long by 56 ft. deep. Colgate Univeristy gives to every man who attends every classroom exercise a reward of one quarter hour every term. The athletic men assert that this gives the “ grinds ” an unfair advantage and encour- the production of a one-sided man. The senior class has decided to wear caps and gowns begininng Easter Sunday.
