H e says that class produces more vile o d o rs than all the rest o f the college together, which greatly shocks his arothetic temperament. They stood him on his head one day, and tried to make him drink one of their weird mixtures, saying they were studying Organic Chemistry and wanted to prove the effect on his organs of digestion. Lastly he says some Freshman tried to eat breakfast with his door-plate one morning, and he thinks that is the limit. 1 72 The Hobart Herald A t h le t i c s W . H . C l a r k , Editor H obart was unfortunate enough to suffer defeat in each of the last two games of indoor baseball. The Y . M. C. A. first trimmed the orange and purple with a score of 1 1 - 7 , and the Antlers followed up the Y . M. C. A . ’ s victory with one b y the score of 23 - 2 0 . The latter was H o b a rt’s game until the very end of the eighth inning. The college team was handicapped by the loss of Howell and Johnson both of whom w e re laid up fo r some time after the vacation. Howell, however, is back in the game and it is hoped that Johnson will b e soon. T h e prospects for a lacrosse team this spring are certainly bright. All through the remarkable mid-winter summer time men are out practicing hard to get started on the principles of the game. A fter a few days of ju s t rag, the captain new ly elected, lined the candidates up in the regular positions and played a game each afternoon. Captain L. S. Partridge, elected last spring, resigned his position on the grounds of too much work and the wearers of last y e a r’s Lacrosse H got together and elected C. H. M cCray. Mr. M c C ray has started in his office, by starting the men on regular practice and is evidently
