ioS T H E HOBART H E R A L D . For an instant the vast body of water lifts itself high toward heaven, in milky foam— but what an instant! Far, far into the green depths one looks — behold ! N o longer does h e linger in the outer courts of the unknown ; Neptune has received him in his palaces. For an instant of time is mortal-born permitted a glimpse o f ocean’s deep mysteries. For one, in that awful green, lie secrets of the infinite, the background o f the shadowy intangible. Man’s reason dropped, his fancy spurs him on. What fleeting forms he sees!— W h a t ditn visions!— Children of the storm, water nvmphs o f old. No longer is h is soul bound down to the hard lines o f rationality. That glimpse has taught him, mayhap, something o f the depth o f mystery that surrounds his being, where reason i s a blind guide— where fleeting fancy, once iu a lifetime, may conducft him beyond the dread limits which Nature sets to baffle mortals. w. nt . c . 3 xiU K i$iU tpr<xU Q p w * (&j00oct<xftotu O F F I C I A L NOTICE.
