The movie was abnJptly ended and an .. organ- izationa l meeting\ was held. The purpose of this was to ~OI_\ID -rll e .Mu g s of the many mistakes t h ey were maldng. Ov er · s everal mornings, the class was giv en their innocula- tions; a f ew were feeling the effects of.typ boidf e ver, but brav- ely carried o n. Th e entire class lived with brui s ed left arms, which caused a w i nce each time they were m oved . Also sprink- led lightly ov er the two weeks was a se r ies of meetings with Capt. Spring, C a JX . Phill i ps, Dean Lawrence and other sc hool of- ficials. These meetings taught the Mug s abo u t th e var i ous de - partments ma king up the col- lege . Early Monday morning, Col. Seery inspect ed the progress of the classdrilling. The entire class mar c hed out on the East end of the Qua drangel, aDd Col. Seery iss u ed constructive crit- ici sm t o the IOO's of each sec- tion. The second week was mainly / for the perfection of all that was _ jammed into the heads of the Mugs during the first week. The whole class was getting used to the idea of •'double time\ and .. squaring corners••. None of them even thought of cigar- ettes any more, but for the few who forgot, there was the goon platoon. lf the whole class did wrong (like not keeping their rooms up to par) the organiza- tional meetings served as a curt reminder. , The big day finally came. Sun - day, 20 September-after all hands returned from church lib- . erty , parents, relatives and friends came to visit their sons. After an hour or so of visiting, the drill competition was held. The fruits of two weeks work was on the line and all was reaped by Section -4E-4, which was drilled by IOO's Ryan, Mey - er and Klattenberg. The win- ning section was presented with .. ••Mr. Monk\ by AdmlralMoore. Following was a trick drill ex- hibition by the Pershing Rifles. After more visitng, the class· mustered.
