On Sunday, July 31, a picnic will be held on the church grounds. Those attending are asked to bring dishes to pass and place settings. Hot dogs, hamburgers and beverages will be provid- ed. Anyone planning to attend also is asked to call the rectory at (716)235-1130 by July 24 to make reservations. A Mass of thanksgiving is scheduled for Sunday, August 7, at 2 p.m. A reception in the school hall will follow the Mass from 3 to 5. Priests and sisters who formerly served in the parish and the school as well as former parishioners who entered religious life have been invited. . s The parish will stage a living rosary in the church on Wednesday, October 7. All who attend are asked to bring cook- ies or hors d'oeuvres to share Fiesta will feature dancing Most Predoos Blood, Rochester — The par- ish will celebrate a \New Summer Fiesta\ on Saturday, July 23, starting at 5:30 p.m. on the church grounds and in the air-conditioned gym. Italian-American food will be served under a tent on the grounds at no charge. The band Celebration will perform for dancing and listening. Parish Notes Isaiah House marks 1st year Corpus Christi, Rochester — The parish's home for the dying, Isaiah House, will hold its second annual Ice Cream Social fundrais- er on Sunday, July 24, from noon to 4 p.m. The event will feature clowns and live music. Tickets — $3 each, $10 for families — may be purchased after the weekend Masses or at the social. Class of 48 plans reunion . Holy Rosary, Rochester — The class of 1948 will hold its 40th reunion in October. Reun- ion organizers are currently attempting to con- tact all members of the class. Trip to monastery approaches St. Joseph's, Wayland — A bus will leave the parish for St. Anne's Monastery in Scranton, Pa., for the closing of the Novena to St. Anne on Tuesday, July 26, at 7 a.m. The tra- velers will participate in the 11:45 a.m. serv- ice in the monastery. The. bus will leave the monastery to return to Wayland at 3 p.m. The return trip will include a stop foa dinner. Tickets for the trip cost $20, not including dinner. Sister MoBle Brown, RSM, PhJX, director of Spirit House, recently, retired from the board of trustees of East House. She was present- ed with a commemora- ; tive drawing of one of the agency's community residences at a ceremony in her honor. Sister Brown, a psychiatric nurse and practicing psychologist with a doctorate, in developmental psychology, became an East House Trustee in 1982. During her six years as a trustee, the agency expanded its services by adding several new residential programs and a Family Education Program for relatives of the residents. She was the chairwoman of the Quality Assurance Committee and will remain on the committee as vice chairwoman and a consultant to the agency. • • • Carol Frank, a social work major at Nazareth College, was among the recipients of the Rochester Area Colleges' Outstanding ors Adult Student Award. This award recognizes adult students who have excelled in scholastic and community achievements. Frank', who is a member of St. Paul's Parish in Webster, was also selected for Who's Who in American Universities and Colleges. . • • • Mercy Sisters Anne P. Malloy and Sheila -Anne Stevenson have been elected to the Board of Directors of St.' James Mercy Hospital, Hor- nell. They succeed Sister-Gaye I#nn Moore- bead, RSM, of Rochester and Sister Nathaniel Seitz, RSM, of Elmira on the 18-member board. Sister Malloy is director of the Mercy Center With the Aging in Rochester. Sister Stevenson is an associate professor in the Mon- roe Community College Department of Den- tal Hygiene.
