Phillips ' ... ••••• .-'•!- EDITORIAL- ' Since this is the last edition of the school newspaper,, the Cannoneer, perhaps it would be fitting to sum up the school year 1965-66,- and what it has meant : to'many of the students. -: •To those seniors graduating this • June, it- is a step, towards their goals..,in higher education. And may I take this opportunity to congratulate all of them in their success herey-ahd 1 -wish them'success in; their future j endeavors; 1 for whatever honors they can-earn will reflect.' on Jefferson • and on its-' . teaching staff.- '\•?•• \ •• '\••' \P v -- j ^- ; ' ' V '•'•'.• '\'- As -for the-rest of us. who remain for another year y - we must strive to' do even better than those Who have gone before us, and certainly better than we have done this year. 1 It has been a year of stimulation-through: education for most of us. But some have not taken their futures so seriously and it has-been a'year of play. 1 This is sad because as you get older, you realize the\'-importance of education and that the time for play will never really come until your education -isi \finished. Enough-Said. ••••.'• ' >'•; ''••'•• This has been a year of '\firsts\ for Jefferson. This year we held our classes on - our new campus.. 'And it is not only beautiful but well eouipped, with a new and excellent library,-an auditorium, language labs, business labs, biology and physics .labs, ; and last but not. least, :: a student lounge with a- cafeterias It is indeed a far cry from l the ' old- schoolhouse on '•••'•• Lansing Streets •'-' •'• .-''' ; : ; T •— .vq '•:?; .. r- <• .-*: •> :,}-••':••.
