THE Kindergarten as one of the more recently added departments of the school is receiving more attention in the aducational field than perhaps it desires. No plant enjoys being dug up to have its roots examined be- fore it has fairly started to grow. However the attention is very flatter- ing and forces the kindergarten to do its best. For the sake of those knowing little about the work it may be easier to consider it under the heads, material, end desired and means. The material is the spirit bound up in the mulcles and nerves and brain of the child. The end desired is that the child be a better member of society thus being a better individual. \It is the aim of our endeavor to make it possible for him to inform spontaneously to develop, to edu- cate himself from his first advent on earth, as a whole human being, as a whole in himself and in harmony and in union with the life-whole, to make it possible for him to inform and instruct himself, to recognize himself thus as a definite member of the all-life, and as such, fully and spontaneously to make himself known fully and spontaneously to live. \Page 9\ Pedagogies of Kindergarten.\ The means to this end is the form-
