MORGAN At 5:33 am on December 6 officers arrested a 37-year-old male on a charge of driving while intox1eated. Police dis- patcher was informed a vehicle was driving across numerous lawns on Burt Avenue. On arrival of police units tre tracks were observed cutting into lawns on three locations on Burr and one on Oak Street. At this juncture, a white Toyota (identified) was seen going westbound on Oak. Local citizen informed officer the white Toyota had just crashed into a real estate agency sign on Laurel Street. Police unit went in _ pursuit, __ and stopped the Toyota after it was seen careening | into | the opposite lane. cross- ing a double yellow line After a more complete - investiga- tron his license plate was found on the front lawn of one of the lawns the driver dam- aged on Laurel Street. He was incarcer- ated and held for arraignment. A charge of unlawful possession of maryuana caused a field appearance ticket to be issued to an 18-year old male on Beach Avenue near Woodbine Avenue on December 2 at 9:47 pm. Petit larceny Two petit larceny incidents occurred. One was at a funeral parlor on Laurel Avenue near Main Street on December 6 at 9:42 am. Property owner told responding officers that unknown per- son(s) had taken a statue of Jesus and a standing lamb from the Nativity scene on the lawn. Each piece was valued at $75. The other incident occurred on Fort Salonga Road near Cherry Street on December 4 at 1:47 pm. Complainant told police a 2001 Yamaha mini-bike had been stolen between noon on December 2 and 3 pm on December 3. Its value: $250. Criminal mischief Criminal mischief misdemeanor was the reported offense on Waterside Avenue on December 2 at 7:22 pm. Female complainant reported a mailbox worth $100 vandalized. Assists There were three instances of Northport officers rendering assistance. At 1:57 pm on December 5 on Main Street near Church Street officers went to the location where a maroon 1998 Toyota Tacoma was reportedly blocking traffic. Officer moved the vehicle to the side of the road, the driver stating it would be moved away as soon as possi- ble. At the same location. same day. police investigated a disabled tan 2002 Ford Explorer. Vehicle was not blocking roadway, and operator was transported to her home on Burt Avenue, promising y to have the vehicle removed soon. A confused, 82 year old - female was reported | on - Fort Salonga Road near Laure! Avenue on December 3 at 3:33 pm. She told police she could not find her vehicle and did not know whether it had been stolen. Officer helped her find the vehicle. Disturbance Male complainant on - Bayview Avenue on December 8 at 3:05 pm told police he had locked himself out of his red 2002 Saturn. Police informed com- plainant of the possible outcome of sug- gested service, but he averred there were no side-impact bags. Vehicle was opened without damage. An anonymous complainant on Fifth Avenue on December 8 at 11:21 am told police there were several vehicles parked in front of the location. Officer responding observed a 1993 Chevrolet with obstructed license plates due to a sander and plow being attached. Owner was located, and he agreed to rectify the sit- uation. A report of vehicles speeding through an open gate on June Avenue near Main Street came in on December 4 at 3:46 pni. Responding officer closed the gate. An injured dog was reported on Valley Avenue near Highland Avenue on December 5 at 11:58 pm It reportedly had been struck by a car Responding officer was unable to locate the animal.
