Concert earns $4,500 to aid Hurricane Katrina victims Samantha Tetro. founder of Samantha's Ls I Bit Of Heaven Ministries presents Mazor A«d George of The Salvation Army in East Northport a check for $2,250 to aid the victims of Hurricane Katrina. L' Bit of Heaven Ministries located on Lark field Road in East Northport held a three-hour music marathon concert to assist in raising funds for the victims. Over 10 local bands and musicians, along with comedian Pat Brucato, dedicated their time and tal- ents that helped to raise $4,500. Local merchants like Giggles & Glamour of East Northport donated merchandise for an auction. One hundred percent of the proceeds went to The Salvation Army and Habitat for Humanity. The Salvation Army was on the scene of the disas- ter immediately, bringing food, water, clothing and comfort, explained Samantha. Habitat for Humanity has a big job before them as it works on providing new housing to the victims, offering them a hope and a future. Cleanup of historic 'Old Burial Ground' in Huntington Huntington Councilwoman Susan A. SBertand was joined by various boy scout troops and community vol- unteers to help restore the historic \Old Burial Ground\ on Main Street in Huntington The fourth annual cleanup proved once again to be a very productive and fulfilling day for all involved. Volunteers spent the morning raking leaves, disposing of litter and removing stubborn brush from throughout the cemetery Councilwoman Berland stressed the significance of the historic site and thanked all of the volunteers for their participation, stating that \The annual cleanup of the Historic Old Burial Ground not only brings people from the community together in an effort to revive a historic site, but preserves an important piece of Huntington's history.
