Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy at Mather Hospital Why go anywhere else? yperbaric oxygen therapy - breathing 100% pure oxygen in a special chamber - is a painless, innovative and proven medical treatment to help repair damaged tissue from radiation therapy, heal chronic and diabetic wounds and help fight wound infections. It is also a proven treatment for decompression sickness, carbon monoxide poisoning, and smoke inhalation. During treatment at Mather, patients lie in a pressurized clear, acrylic chamber while pure oxygen is compressed into the chamber. The increased amount of oxygen is carried through the blood stream, delivered to the injured body tissue, which stimulates healing. Mather Hospital's Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy Unit, staffed by a team of experienced physicians and nurses trained in hyperbaric medicine, provides 24-hour-a-day consultation and treatment services to the Long Island community. For more information about the benefits of Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy, call the specialists at Mather Hospital at 476-2768 or visit matherhospital.org For Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy needs, why go anywhere else?
