BY CHARLES J. MORGAN Assistance was rendered by police officers on October 20 at 1:42 pm on Cozy Lane near Cathy Court. Police received a report of an On-Star activa- tion on a 2003 Hummer (identified). On arrival driver told police she had self-activated the mechanism because she had run out of minutes and wanted to see how to get more. Arrest At 34 minutes after midnight on October 18 a 22-year-old male surren- dered at Headquarters being under an active warrant. He was processed and held for arraignment. On October 17 at 7:01 pm a $3-year . old male surrendered himself due to a war- | rant and he too was held for arraignment. On October 17 at 6:30 pm a 22-year-old male tumed himself in at Headquarters on a war- rant. On October 17 at 6:30 pm anoth- er male, 22, arrived to surrender. A 37- year-old male on October 17 at 5:56 pm was also taken into custody. A 39- year-old male completed the list of surrenders. All the defendants were under bench warrants for failing to appear in court previously. Burglary Burglary was the reported offense on October 16 at 11:26 am on Soper Avenue near Fort Salonga Road. Male caller told police that between 6 am and 9 pm on October 15 his apartment had been forcibly entered and ran- sacked thus making the offense second degree, a C felony. He blamed certain unnamed youths but refused to press criminal charges. Petit larceny Two petit larceny incidents were reported, both of which involved com- plainants who refused cooperation with police. One was on Main Street in a café where male caller on October 14 at 8:15 pm told police he believed a male employee had stolen up to $500 between 8 am on September 30 and 8 am on October 13. Nevertheless, he declined to press charges. The other was on October 16 at 12:46 pm on Main Street. Caller reported that a known subject bad stolen food from his refrigerator. However, he signed a Refusal to Prosecute Form, insisting on documentation only. Disturbance On Constitution Square near Village Dock on October 20 at 10:10 am anonymous caller told police a dog was seen locked in a vehicle with win- dows closed. On arrival of police it was seen the windows were actually partly open. Officer spoke to owner who was nearby working on her sailboat with- in visual distance of the vehicle. On Ocean Avenue on October 19 ar 10:24 am male caller told police he was a physical education teacher at the Ocean Avenue School and while with some of his students on the school field, he observed a male on school property with dogs. When advised to leave school property the dog-walker became abusive and belligerent. Police officer responding constrained the dog-walker to leave the premises which he did without incident. Assistance to a driver locked out of her residence was rendered on October 17 at 10:09 pm on Woodbine Avenue. Homeowner authorized police to break a window pane on her side entrance in order to do so. At 6:26 pm on October 14 on Church Street female com- plainant reported that as she stopped for a red light at the intersection of Main and Church she was confronted by a bald male who exited a van and banged on her car with his fist while turning the air blue with obscenities. He left quickly. Complainant felt he was in this state of emotion because he felt she may have taken too long in exiting a supermarket parking lot.
