People Munson attends Holyoke Jilhan Munson of East Northport has begun her first year at Mount Holyoke College in South Hadley. Massachusetts as part of the class of 2009. Munson is the daughter of Gregory and Ariene Munson and a graduate of Northport High School. A National Hispanic Scholar and member of the National Art Honor Society, Munson received the Northport Youth Soccer League College Award. Whale attending Mount Holyoke. she plans to study poditical science and international relations Obituary - Carol D. Strumbos Carol Strumbos of Northport died on September 29 at the age of 80. Mrs. Strumbos was bom on April 14, 1925 in Detroit, Michigan, the daughter of Joseph Aloysius Dowd and Mary Dana Ellison. She was a homemaker and served in the U.S. Navy as a Hospital Apprentice, First Class, from in Strumbos. St. Paul's girls Supervisor Frank P Petrone and Town Board members this week honored three fifth grade students who attend St. Paul's Lutheran School in East Northport for conducting a special project to help children affect ed by the recent hurricanes in the Gulf Coast. The girls, Katelyn Bonavita, Jennifer Olita and Michelle Perrotta, set out on a mission to lend a helping hand to those in need by raising funds to purchase 25 backpacks full of school supplies to be sent to fellow stu dents in Houston. The girls sold snacks and other items before and after their soccer game to raise money to purchase the backpacks and supplies. The girls raised enough money to purchase and outfit 50 backpacks They even shipped two additional large boxes of other supplies to Houston.
