Charity comes full circle Oldfield students assist displaced peers One of the first community service projects the Oldfield Middle School student government set out to accom- plish this year was lending a helping hand to victims of Hurricane Katrina. In conjunction with the school's PTA president Maggie Boba, the group brainstormed what items the children affected by the catastrophe might need. Knowing that the students from Louisiana have been displaced and, as a result, could not start school, the group decided to collect an array of school supplies to send to the young victims of - this natural disaster. Oldfield Middle School students were able to locate a group of displaced Louisiana children who are being housed right here on Long Island at Brunswick Hospital in Amityville. With the help of student government advisors David Hsiao and Edwin Smith, the students were able to collect a variety of supplies that will help their péers from Louisiana get an organized start to their school year while they are in such a difficult transitional period. - - one w 2 liko a aiidsiuasuet coon cavecomch Gemco io Suni m agua
