Retirement Remodeling for the future BY DENISE SALUTTERS A recent study conducted by AARP found that 83 percent of Americans who are age 45 or older want to stay in their homes as long as possible. In many cases this means remodeling an existing home to meet the needs and desires of aging. Before choosing a contractor to do the work, though. the National Association of the Remodeling Industry. a nonprofit trade organization. recommends you make sure you know what you are getting and what to expect. Here is a list of suggestions offered by NARL: * Employ a contractor with an established business in your area.
