Each and every year, this group dazzles the audience with their tap- ping, modern dance routines, colorful attire and beautiful smiles. On stage in John Walsh Park at 4 pm is a band that, although new to the festival audience, is not new to chamber events. We're proud to feature this year the Distant Twins Acoustic Duo, a two-piece acoustic act f. featuring Felicia Crandall on vocals and percussion and Mike Green on vocals and guitar. Their music they play is extremely diversified, ranging from oldies to the hits of today. Felicia and Mark are very individual singers, yet _ when they harmonize, they sound like one. For over ten years they've been entertaining audiences ranging from small, private events to large, lavish weddings. If you find yourself on Larkfield Road shopping and visiting the many streetside vendors, stop by the Rockabilly Stage to hear thythm and blues by The Adjustments at 4 pm. On Sunday at about 9:40 am, the East Northport Fire Department will host a September 11 memorial tribute in tront of the firehouse. At the conclusion, members of the fire department will be inviting all in attendance to join them for refresh- ments and an open house. This versatile and entertaining group of musicians has been together since 1990 and continues to bring forth both the best of coun- try and classic rock music. They were named by Newsday as the Best Country Cover Band in 1999. Their repertoire has grown tremendously over the years. There are few country requests they can't fulfill. Wheels will perform its daredevil stunts on Larkfield Road at 2 pm in front of the East Northport Library. Each year, the crowd gathers to witness this group of young performers flying through the air from ramp to ramp. Following this show, Elite Dance Studio will strut its stuff and then Tiger Schulman Karate will demonstrate its techniques Back at 4 pm: another show of Perfection on Wheels. Also on hand, The Magic of Mark & Kym will gave three shows Saturday and Sunday at 12:30 pm. 2:30 pm and 4:30 pm. Also. stop by and visit the petting zoo all weekend. Throughout the weekend, you'll also witness great entertainment, talented and creative craft vendors and demonstrations and have the opportunity to learn about many of the fine businesses in East Northport. Stop by all weekend and meet the Liske sisters and sign up for the Garden Club. East Northport Fire Department On duty during the festival weekend will be the new EMS Bike Squad. This squad is effective in providing emergency medical response in certain environments. Consisting of two high-performance \Police Special\ type mountain bikes, two emergency medical technicians (EMTs) working in tandem can provide EMS response in areas that are difficult for auto or apparatus to access. The bikes are equipped with oxygen, a varicty of first- response supplies and a defibrillator. The primary objec- tive is to quickly reach and stabilize a patient until the ambulance can reach the scene. The fire house will have all emergency apparatus on display on Saturday between 10 am and 4 pm. Mumm said, \I was very disappointed with the _- board's decision. It's a negative perception and message to the community. I would have liked to see one of the other candidates on the board. We battled it and that's the way it went.\ Fortuna indicated he is equally disappointed in the board's decision. He said, \It's in the best public interest not to appoint someone who has been on the board pre- viously. I was trying to get someone who was not voted out, a fresh face.\ Some residents and staff applauded while Arthur was sworn in as trustee on Monday, but others took the oppor- tunity to voice their opposition and dissatisfaction about his appointment.
