Bosco Community Service Award and the Public Service Award. The awards, to be presented at the organization's 12th annual gala, recognize the contributions made through volunteering and community service. Albany Country Club on Friday, Nov. 17, is \Families Creating Community.\ The Breslins as a family, known widely through their public service, have all made volunteering an important part of their lives, through the example of Mary Breslin, the mother of six children, three of whom hold government posi- tions in the county and the state. Elaine Nichols of Voorhees- ville is owner of Nichols' Market, which she founded with her late husband, Jim Nichols. She and her family have for many years been deeply involved in the local community, and are known for their support of a variety of helping organizations, including Community Caregivers. Among her many projects are the copper roof for the gazebo in the Voorheesville Hotaling/Ever- green Park to commemorate 75 years of Kiwanis service to the community. Each year, the Nichols fund the fireworks display at the close of the Voorheesville Memorial Day Block Party as well as making contributions to the Memorial Day Celebration at the American Legion following the parade. The family has made signifi- cant contributions to the annual \Relay for Life,\ raising funds for the fight against cancer and to the efforts of the Voorheesville Community and School Founda- tion that supports numerous community programs. New York State Senator Neil D. Breslin has been a community leader for many years. His involvement in civic and social areas in Albany includes 15 years as a board member of Arbor House, a residence facility for women in need. He also served as president of Arbor House for seven years. They fill in the space where community and family used to operate, sub- stituting for family and friends when no one else is available to come to the aid of a neighbor in need. The service area is bounded roughly by 1-90 on the north, Duanesburg on the west, the Albany city line on the east, and Route 443 on the south.
