Lowest In Survey An exhaustive statewide sur vey of prescription drug prices released recently by th* Ver mont Public Interest Research Group (VP1RG) reported Kinney Druga, St. Albans store had tbe lowest prices tn Vermont of any chain-operated pharmacy group. That conclusion was arrived at by totaling tte prices of the SO most commonly prescribed drugs - anybody buying all the drugs at once would pay 8245.79 at Kinney Drugs. The report showed the highest overall pri ces were found ln Winooski, where all 90 drugs would cost $371,28. The survey, billed by VPIEG as “ tte most extensive prescrip tion dmg.piice survey ever con ducted in any state, “lists prl- JOURNAL A N D REPUBUCAN.LOWVIlll.N.Y. WEDNESDAY. VPIRG Director Scott Skinner said tte survey was done largely because of a favorable public re sponse to an earlier survey Of tte Burlington area. Particularly good response, lie said, came from physicians and from elderly persons who spend large parts of their budgets on drugs. When ssked about tte survey, M. Stanley Paupat, Kinney pres ident, said tte company's poli cy of low mark-ups on prescrip tion drugs ls ln effect ln Ver mont and New YorkState through out the Kinney chain. “We are pleased to have had tbe lowest prices ln two recent independent surveys,” Mr. Paupat said. <• * if G R A N D U N I O N 2 n d W E E K - P R I V A T E L A B E L S A L E ! e H A H V A L - A L L W H ITE M EAT T U R K E Y B R E A S T 99* W/RIB 2 TO 8 LB.
