10 North Westchester Timos, Mt. Kisco, N. Y., Feb. 5, 1959 • 1 11 • i Check Writer Disappears After Arrest Judge John F.-Reed Jr. said in Mount Kisco Police Court Thurs day night he will issue a warrant for the arrest of a former viUage{worthless residKrt who mysteriously disap-' peared after being taken into cus tody for issuing a bogus $75 check. Forty-two-ye? old John Ander son, formerly of 265 Main St., was arrested on Jan. 24 and released in $100 bail pending an appear ance in court on Jan. 29; he is accused by David Markoff, pro prietor of a Mount Kisco shoe store, of writing a worthless check in payment for a purchase. Mr. Markoff was in court Thurs day as was Edward Reardon, pro prietor of a Main St. liquor store. He claims Anderson gave him a $25 check. Since both merchands are inter ested in recovering their losses, Judge Reed didn't order Ander son's bail immediately forfeited; he adjourned the case one week and asked Police Chief John F. Cregier to locate the missing de fendant. If he is found and appears in court, the chances are John O'Boyle, proprietor of Village Store, will be there too. He told the court last week that Ander son disappeared without paying his grocery bill.
