Sentinel 3 MARY ELLEN (SCRIVENER) WOOD A generous. crelltive and lov- ing mother, grandmother nnd sis- ter, Mary Ellen (Scrivener) Wood died peacelidly in her sleep on friday, December 18, 2009, at her home in Cnnandaigua. Mary m- Ien was born on August 27, 1929, in Rochester, NY. She gradu- ated from Honeoye falls High School, Class of 1946, and at- tended Genesee Junior College in I.ima. In 1952, she married Roger franklin Wood, who predeceased her in 2008. She is survived by her brother ClifTord (Nancy) of Webster Groves, Missouri, and SOliS Roger Jr. (Kotie), Kenneth (Heather), David (Koren) Dnd Paul (Jill) and grandchildren John Casey, Sarah Ann, Hannah Ainsley, Taylor Ann, Caroline Eli7.abeth, Emma Grace and Hope Grace (all Woods). Along with her husband of 55 years, she was predeceased by her brother, Kenneth, and parents, Albert and Alberta Scrivener. A service was held for Mary El- len on Saturday, December 26, 2009 at the United Church of Canandaigua. THOMAS R. TYSON Thomas R. Tyson of Mendon passed away at age 50 on Satur- day, December 19, 2009 at the Hildebrandt Hospice Cllre Cent ter. He was II beloved husband, fnther, son, brother, uncle, friend and colleague. Ws lifetime of service to the chureh as elder and choir member demonstrated hi$ tremendous faith. Tom grew up on Grand Is· IlInd, NY and received his 8S in Civil Engineering from Cllm- egie-Mellon University in 1981. He completed his SM in Civil Engineering at the Massachu- setts Institute of Technology in 1983. The culminntion of his immensely successful career was his role as Lead Structural Engine~r on the construction of Ave Moria University. lie was especially proud of the Oratory. Family was Torn's pride and joy. He married Ruth, the love of his life, in 1983 and they were IIlllr- ried for 26 years. He was dearly loved by his two children Mary and JefT; exchange students Fer- nando and Amelie; parents Harold and Kay Tyson; in-laws Margaret and George Fletchcr and cher- ished siblings, nieces, nephews and extended family. Relatives and friends are in- vited to celebrate his life January 2, 20 I 0 at I :00 p.m. at the Men- don Church, 936 Cheese Factory Road (at the comer of Route (4).
