YFW Auxiliary news By Darlene Stanton ALTAMONT — The Boyd Hilton Ladies Auxiliary held its monthly meeting in the post rooms on Mill Street in Alta- mont, on Nov 4. The meeting was brought to order at 7:30 p.m. by me as auxiliary president. A motion was passed to order the new cabinets and counter- tops for the restoration of the lower kitchen. There was a dis- cussion of the Veterans Day pro- gram that was held on Nov. 7, sponsored by the VFW Post 7062 and the American Legion Post 977. I thanked all who worked at the chicken barbecue and donated cakes. I then gave a troop support report and stated that to date $31,000, including postage, has been sent to the troops, many of them our own local soldiers. There have been a few of our local soldiers who have returned home for a little rest and relaxa- tion. They are: Tom Pollard, Michelle Blackman, Chris Nations, Ed Person, and Amy and Brian Walts. Packages are being sent for Christmas. If anyone would like to send a donation to help out, please make your checks pay- able to VFW Post 7062 Ladies Auxiliary, earmark them \troop support,\ and mail them to me, Darlene Stanton, Post Office Box 13, Clarksville, NY 12041. If you have any questions or would like to add the address of any soldier to our list for a package, please call 768-2586 or e-mail wwdeedeeass@aol.com . Coining up The post Christmas party will be held on Dec 4, at 2 p.m., with food served at 2:30 p.m. Bring a grab-bag gift and a covered-dish to share. The auxiliary Christmas party will be Dec 2, with food served at 6:30 p.m. Please bring a grab bag gift and a dish to share and also please bring a new toy or game or stuffed animal for our Christ- mas fund.
