PAGE — Seneseo Lamron, Summer 1973 Activities Commission is nodes tip of nine council chairmen from each of the councils who me;et each week to coordinate the programmingof campus acliv itiees, . This year the commission: hias a budget of $117,000.00, obtained through the collection of the sttudent activities fees. With this money, we try to present a variety of entertainment with the idea of making Geneseo a favorable experience, Work has already begun on IHomecoming Weekend which will take place September 21-23. Th is ye;ar we have adopted the carnival theme, and will present, among other ithi ngs, a 3-ring circus, parade, concert, dances, and of course, a carnivaB! We are also initiating theme programming for other weekends throughout the year. Watch foor Welcome Week, The Olympiad, Human Liberation Week, International Week, and a Media Weekend, along with regular prograrrvmi ngi, If your interests lie withi n tthe scope of any of the councils, watch for their meeting times whichn will be announced soon after your arrival in August. If you have, you know how much fun they are, and if nol, you'll soon nave your chance. Homecoming '73 feature the Hanneford Circus on Sunday, September 23, two performances, Friday, we will be having a carnival with games, cotton candy, and rides. This will continue through Saturday. Also on Friday, there will be an a lu semi-formal. For those who don't like getting dressed up, don your jeans and go to the rock dance to be held in the College Union Ballroom. We are trying to get some entertainment for late Friday night for those who want to get the most out of the weekend. On Saturday, first will be the freshmen vs. alumni soccer game at by the traditional parade. There will be dorm and Greek floats, area high school bands, alumni, city and college officials and some form of student participation, whether it be the kazoo band or parading in animal or clown costumes. At 1:00, our varsity tennis team will take on R.I.T. and at 2:00 St. John Fisher will meet our varsity soccer team, both at home. At night there will be a fine arts performance, \What the Butler Saw.\ Also, we will have a concert and are getting \Poco\; a concert that will be well worth attending. Other tentative plans are a ar-B-Que or clam bake, a singing pig (If you don't believe me ask Tom Matthews!), an alumni-student beer tent, a \dunking\ booth, movies, and coffee house entertainment. For all this to happen I still need many more people to help. Anyone interested in working should call me right away this fall! If you want to be an active student on campus, this is the place to start! I'm sure you will dl enjoy weekend. Don't miss a thing! Recreation Council would like to welcome you and wish you the best of luck here at Geneseo. Our council is just one part of Activities Commission which plans most of the campus activities for the entire school year. Without the commission, there would be no concerts, movies, coffee-house, dances, or many of the other array of other words nothing to do but drink at the Rathskeller. (which can get boring after a while!) That is why we need your help. Get involved! Join an organization and make sure there are things to do every weekend. R e c called by its members) had a full program this year, and is planning a bigger one for next year. Among were overnight horseback riding trips, a balloonist on Homecoming Weekend, Kampus Kapers (old craze contests of the past), the tournament, a pocket billiard tournament and demonstration Spring Fever Follies, and an Olde Western Casino Night. F o r the besides regular tournaments, v/e have a Olympiad, Roller Derby, plus o u r program m ing activities. But to assure their success, we need warm bodies (which means YO U !)
