Page 4, \Al' Jenkins entered the game with' a, strained\ muscle\ In his\ back and this handicapped him somewhat. Captain' St aider and \Levy\ played.very good defensive games During the second half the Aggies held St* Mary's to one basket. To those who saw that wild half this fact is hardly be- lievable. On the other hand, St.\Mary's held the Aggies to three* She score: S. L. U. .AGGIES. Jenkins, R.f, Herrick, L,f» I, evens on, C. Stalder, R.g. Smiddy, L,g, Total . J|4\ 2 16 S.L.0.' Capt* Stalder was out of the game and Al. Jenkins remained out of nearly the entire game on account [ of a lame' back. Though greatly ! handicapped' by the loss of these two men, ; the team did its best as will be seen by the following: FirstHalf, The teams played a long time be- fore either scored. «hen they did, it was Foster who made the basket. The pass work by b&th teams was very good. Teb Bobst repeatedly broke up many plays by the Frosh and \Levy 1l s\ defensive playing stopped the Frosh from scoring numbers <af times. The only basket made by the Frosh during the first half was shot by our little friend Y/ilcox. The Freshmen added four fouls to this basket and the half ended after Merrick had scored a goal and a point on a foul. The score at the end of the half was. 6-5 in favor of the Freshmen, Second, Half, The second half started as did the first, a long interval' and then the scoring caiae fast.' Al Jenkins substituted for Foster, and' Foster replaced \Ted\ at' right guard. The score climbed rapidly with' the Aggies hanging on determinedly,' With the score 17-12, Foster cut loose and made two consecutive baskets. From then until the end of the game it was anybody' game. It turned out to be the Frosh's to the tune of 20-17. The outstanding feature of the game was Foster's playing, Foster acted as Captain in the absence of Al Stalder, Had the Aggies got started a little sooner the outcome undoubtedly would have been reversed, The 'team was well supported by the students who, while disappointed at the final outcome, were proud of the game played by S.O.A's boys.
